Job Description:
The Commercial Manager will lead the company’s commercial and procurement activities, with a focus on oilfield equipment, drilling equipment, spare parts, and drilling services.
The role is responsible for managing major domestic and international purchases, supplier sourcing, commercial negotiations, import and customs processes, transportation and transit routes, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of critical equipment and materials.
The position also requires strong knowledge of the Iranian oil & gas supply market, an established industry network, and sufficient technical understanding of upstream operations, particularly drilling and well services.
Required Skills:
Proven experience in commercial management and procurement within the oil & gas, drilling, oilfield services, or energy industries.
Strong track record of managing major international purchases of oilfield equipment, drilling equipment, machinery, spare parts, and related materials.
Extensive knowledge of international sourcing and supplier markets, particularly for drilling rigs, drilling equipment, downhole tools, well services equipment, mechanical equipment, and critical spare parts.
Strong knowledge of international transportation, transit routes, multimodal logistics, and practical routes for importing equipment and materials into Iran.
Strong understanding of Iranian customs clearance, import procedures, customs regulations, required documentation, and applicable trade and import regulations.
Ability to identify alternative sourcing and transportation routes and develop cost-effective and reliable supply chains for international purchases.
Strong knowledge of the Iranian oil & gas supply market and familiarity with major domestic suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, workshops, and service companies.
Established network of professional relationships with suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, service companies, and key stakeholders within the Iranian oil & gas industry.
Strong supplier identification, qualification, evaluation, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities.
Proven ability to source difficult-to-find and critical spare parts and equipment through both domestic and international markets.
Strong commercial negotiation skills, particularly for high-value equipment, long-term supply agreements, and strategic procurement.
Good understanding of upstream oil & gas operations, particularly drilling and drilling services.
Sufficient technical knowledge to understand equipment specifications, technical requirements, equipment compatibility, and spare parts requirements.
Ability to work effectively with drilling, engineering, maintenance, operations, and technical teams to identify procurement requirements and evaluate technical-commercial offers.
Strong ability to analyze quotations, commercial offers, pricing structures, total landed cost, logistics costs, customs costs, and other procurement-related expenses.
Experience in tendering, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, purchase orders, and commercial contract management.
Strong understanding of Incoterms and international trade practices.
Ability to manage international suppliers and coordinate procurement, logistics, shipping, customs clearance, and final delivery.
Strong market intelligence capabilities and ability to continuously identify new suppliers, manufacturers, alternative sources, and emerging supply markets.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
Strong professional communication and relationship-building skills.
Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with international suppliers.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
