Job Description:
The Legal & Contracts Specialist will be responsible for providing legal and contractual support across the company’s oil & gas, drilling, well services, procurement, projects, and operational activities.
The position requires strong practical experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, administering, and managing various types of commercial and operational contracts, with particular emphasis on drilling, well services, EPD contracts, oilfield services, equipment supply, and technical service agreements.
The role will be responsible for developing contractual structures and templates, reviewing tender and contract documents, identifying contractual and legal risks, managing contractual obligations, supporting claims and disputes, and ensuring that contracts adequately protect the company’s commercial and operational interests.
The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of drilling industry contracting practices, including different contractual models used between drilling contractors, oil companies, E&P companies, and oilfield service companies.
Required Skills:
Ability to independently draft and develop different types of commercial, operational, and technical contracts.
Strong practical understanding of drilling, EPD, rig, well services, and oilfield service contracting structures.
Ability to review complex contracts, identify legal and commercial risks, and recommend appropriate contractual protections.
Ability to manage the full contract lifecycle, including amendments, variations, claims, disputes, renewals, and close-out.
Ability to develop contractual documents based on specific operational and commercial requirements rather than relying solely on standard templates.
Strong understanding of oil & gas contracting practices, tender requirements, guarantees, insurance, liabilities, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Strong legal writing, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical, commercial, financial, and operational teams.
Required Education
MSc - Law : Preferred
