About the Role
The Automation & AI Platform team is building the foundation for intelligent, agentic automation across the organization. Our goal is to turn business workflows into reliable AI-powered systems that can understand context, retrieve knowledge, use internal tools, execute governed actions, and help teams operate faster and smarter.
We are looking for a Senior AI Software Engineer to design and build production-grade AI applications, agentic workflows, RAG systems, orchestration services, and internal platform capabilities.
This is not a traditional full-stack role and not a research-only AI role. The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer who can build real systems around LLMs: tools, APIs, workflows, state, permissions, evaluation, monitoring, and safe execution.
You will work on internal AI products and platform capabilities that enable assistants, agents, and automation flows to support business operations across different teams.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain production-grade AI applications and agentic workflow systems.
Develop AI agents and assistants that can reason over business context, retrieve knowledge, call tools, and execute multi-step workflows.
Build backend services, APIs, tool layers, and integrations with internal systems such as workflow platforms, business applications, databases, ticketing systems, and operational services.
Design and implement RAG-based systems using internal knowledge sources, vector search, hybrid retrieval, metadata filtering, evaluation, and grounded response generation.
Build stateful workflows for agentic systems, including planning, execution, tool calling, human approval, fallback paths, audit trails, and recovery from failures.
Work with agent orchestration frameworks, workflow engines, or custom orchestration patterns for reliable multi-step AI workflows.
Define safe tool/action interfaces for agents, including input validation, structured outputs, permission checks, audit logging, and error handling.
Build internal tools, dashboards, admin panels, and user-facing interfaces when needed to support agentic workflows and platform operations.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand operational processes and translate them into automatable workflows and AI-powered services.
Contribute to platform capabilities for agent development, tool registration, prompt/version management, evaluation, monitoring, and developer enablement.
Build reliable production services with attention to observability, scalability, maintainability, latency, cost, and security.
Participate in architecture design, technical reviews, prototyping, production rollout, and continuous improvement of the platform.
Requirements
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend, platform, full-stack, or AI application engineering background.
Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern backend development using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar.
Experience building production services, APIs, integrations, asynchronous workflows, and event-driven systems.
Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, AI assistants, RAG systems, workflow automation systems, or agent-based applications.
Practical understanding of agentic AI concepts such as tools, actions, memory, state, planning, orchestration, human-in-the-loop, guardrails, and workflow execution.
Experience with at least one agent orchestration framework, workflow engine, or custom orchestration pattern for multi-step AI workflows, such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, n8n, Camunda, or similar.
Experience designing or implementing RAG systems, including document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector or hybrid search, reranking, metadata filtering, and source attribution.
Ability to design tool/action layers that connect AI systems to real business systems safely and reliably.
Experience with structured outputs, schema validation, tool calling, error handling, evaluation, and safe execution patterns.
Familiarity with MCP or similar approaches for exposing tools, APIs, and resources to AI agents is valuable.
Experience with relational databases, search systems, queues, background jobs, and integration patterns commonly used in production platforms.
Ability to contribute to frontend or full-stack development when needed, especially for internal tools, dashboards, admin UIs, workflow interfaces, or agent workbenches.
Familiarity with modern JavaScript or TypeScript ecosystems such as React, Next.js, Node.js, or similar is valuable.
Experience with local or self-hosted LLMs, model gateways, or inference runtimes such as vLLM, Ollama, TGI, LiteLLM, or similar is valuable.
Familiarity with LLM/RAG evaluation, prompt/version management, tracing, monitoring, and debugging of AI workflows.
Strong system design, debugging, testing, observability, and maintainability mindset.
Ability to understand complex business processes and convert them into clear technical workflows.
Strong ownership, problem-solving mindset, communication skills, and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
English proficiency is valuable.
