Wallex Company is looking for an experienced and inspiring Data Engineering Manager to lead our growing data team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and operation of our comprehensive data platform, including data warehousing, real-time processing, and big data analytics. This is a critical leadership role focused on scaling our data infrastructure, empowering the organization with reliable and timely data, and driving data-driven decision-making across all business units.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
Performance Management: Manage team performance, conduct reviews, handle capacity planning, and oversee the hiring and onboarding process.
Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for Wallex's data platform, aligning it with overarching business goals.
Architectural Leadership: Drive key architectural decisions for the data ecosystem, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, cost-effective, and responding to the organization's requirements.
Delivery Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data engineering projects, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, Audition, and deployment.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical partner for leaders in Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering to understand needs and translate them into technical data solutions.
Prioritization: Manage the data engineering backlog and prioritize initiatives based on business value and urgency.
Operational Excellence: Ensure the stability, security, and performance of the data platform by implementing best practices for monitoring, alerting, and DataOps.
Data Governance: Develop and enforce standards for data quality, integrity, security, and metadata management across the organization.
Being hands-on in doing action in case of emergency and having ability to develop pipelines and maintain infrastructure.
Requirements:
7+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, BI, or big data.
At least 3+ years of proven experience in a team leadership or management role.
Deep technical understanding of data engineering principles, modern data architectures, data warehousing, data lakes, and data modeling.
Proven experience designing and building complex batch and real-time data pipelines.
Strong knowledge of distributed processing frameworks, big data storage solutions, and workflow orchestration tools.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with both analytical (OLAP/Columnar) and transactional (OLTP) databases.
Strong programming skills in at least one relevant language (e.g., Python).
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
Strong project management (Agile/Scrum preferred) and prioritization skills.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Experience with infrastructure automation (IaC) and CI/CD for data (DataOps).
