Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to execute internal audit engagements with a focus on financial statements and financial cycles. This position is responsible for evaluating related controls to ensure the accuracy, adequacy, and reliability of financial information, as well as compliance with accounting standards and the organization’s internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Audit Execution
Actively participate in the planning and execution of financial audit engagements.
Evaluate the effectiveness of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
Perform Tests of Controls and Substantive Tests
Review of Financial Statements and Accounting Records
Analyze accounting entries (Journal Entry Testing).
Assess compliance of accounting records with applicable accounting standards (Iranian GAAP / IFRS, as applicable).
Participate in the review of accounting estimates and provisions, including ECL reserves, inventory provisions, expense provisions, and others
Reporting & Follow-up
Prepare draft audit reports including findings, root cause analysis, and corrective action recommendations.
Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions and assess their effectiveness.
Maintain professional interaction with the finance and accounting departments, as well as other stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Auditing.
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
Practical familiarity with financial auditing and internal controls.
Good understanding of Iranian accounting standards.
Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, or finance (audit experience preferred).
Experience in audit firms that are members of the Iranian Association of Certified Public Accountants is considered an advantage.
Certification of participation in the Comprehensive Auditor Grading Exam (if applicable) is considered an advantage.
