Description

Cafe Bazaar is the most popular Android application in Iran, serving over 50 million monthly active users who get their applications, games, and video content.
As a Technical Team Lead , you will join Metrix , a business unit within Cafe Bazaar, and lead a team of software engineers, taking responsibility for the team's technical direction, engineering quality, and delivery. You will work closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to translate product and business needs into scalable technical solutions, while mentoring engineers and helping the team grow.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional growth.
Drive the technical direction of the team and contribute to architecture and system design decisions.
Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Review technical designs and code, and ensure engineering quality, maintainability, scalability, and reliability.
Work closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements, identify technical trade-offs, and translate product needs into effective technical solutions.
Break down complex technical problems, identify risks and dependencies, and help the team make informed technical decisions.
Unblock engineers and support the team in solving complex technical and production issues.
Establish and improve engineering practices around coding, testing, code review, deployment, monitoring, and incident management.
Identify and manage technical debt and continuously improve the team's systems and development practices.
Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure effective technical alignment and integration across systems.
Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing engineers within the team.
Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience in software engineering and backend development.
2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, such as Technical Lead, Team Lead, or similar.
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in production environments.
Strong understanding of backend development, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including database design and query optimization.
Experience with software development best practices, including code review, automated testing, version control, and CI/CD.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Experience with messaging and event-driven systems such as Kafka is a plus.
Experience working with high-scale or high-traffic systems is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make and communicate technical decisions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
Ability to balance technical quality and long-term engineering needs with product and business priorities.
